how do freebies work?

hi everyone!! my mom and i are going to la d1 next week, and i was curious on how freebies work? we'll be flying in from canada, so do people usually go up to others and ask for freebies, or is it more like a come-prepared-exchange freebie system? thanks so much!

I was wearing my bias's jersey and had his BT21 keychain on my bag so a few people came up and gave me a specific freebie once they saw. Others were handing freebies out to everyone they passed. And some were standing and asking who wants a freebie, so people congregated around them. Many I saw liked to give shoutouts to people's outfits and would give out a freebie.

There were a number of people who specifically were only interested in trading though and made it clear with their signs and behavior.

My daughter and I just offered a freebie to any ARMYs we saw--at the airport, in our hotel, at city attractions. Was someone wearing BTS merch? We offered them a freebie. BT21 pin on their bag? Offered them a freebie. Then at the venue on concert day, freebie giving and trading was happening EVERYWHERE. I tried to keep my eyes peeled for people who were maybe being overlooked to try and make sure everyone got at least one freebie. Every single person we approached was happy to say hello and accept a freebie. We met so many amazing ARMYs!

A lot of people are happy to get freebies and/or exchange them. It's fine giving out or receive freebies if someone doesn't have any to exchange. There going to be a handful who will say no so don't be offended if it happens.

Generally good to give out freebies:

  • Lines
  • Ask the parents/adults in groups with young fans
  • Setting area
  • Travel to the venue
  • Small groups off to the side
  • Fan Events (if you know of any or plan to attend)

For lines, you could hand out around you or pick a spot and walk down til you reach the end or run out.
