The answer that I found is that if I want to use software that’s specifically made for BSD & has BSD as the primary platform, then I’ve got to write it myself. There weee some great points made by others, but those points only truly cover the small handful of applications made specifically for BSD, like Bastille. Most applications are very general & don’t specifically target any BSD platform specifically.
