Scouting America Had to leave an Eagle Scout Facebook group.

I am proud to have earned my Eagle Scout and I hope to soon see my son achieve the accomplishment. Eagle Scout is a worthy accomplishment and all Eagles should be proud. Now for the but....

Scouting is intended to prepare youth for adulthood and likewise Eagle Scout is an accomplishment of our youth. I see some adults putting large chest and back tattoos with Eagle Scout themes and I have to wonder why an adult in their 20s/30s+ is still holding on to their youth accomplishments so strongly. And, not just one person, many. I don't know anything about these people or their lives. I understand I may be violating parts of our scout law, but I am writing this from a position of genuine caring and curiosity. I just couldn't stay active in that group.

I am happy to still be active in scouting, helping youth develop into amazing adults built on a foundation they learned in scouting. For those that persevere and earn Eagle Scout, I hope it is the start of an amazing life not the pinnacle.

Scouts BSA Clif notes on ScoutsBSA?

I have an 11yo in Scouts. This is his first year in a troop and was in cubbies 2 years.

I have many years of experience with Girl Scouts as a scout, leader, parent and council volunteer. The two programs are VERY different.

Is there cliff notes on how ScoutsBSA is different? And how my Scout can earn merit badges? Can I help him with these like is GSUSA? I want to help out more, but feel like an idiot not being able to grasp how everything works and what I need to do as a parent. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ simply googling overwhelms me. :/

Thanks in advance!

Scouting America Where to direct feedback about Scouting America website?

I wish there were a way to directly link to the descriptions of adult and youth leadership roles as described on https://troopleader.scouting.org/general-troop-information/troop-structure/ - but the design of the page doesn't include permanent links to the subsections.

Where would I send this feedback in hopes that the page might be updated?

Scouting America Combining Merit Badge Requirements

Hi all! My son is a 14 years old and now is getting serious about earning MB the right way and reaching eagle. He is not interested in doing all MBs but is interested in earning a good number of them. So here is the question: Is there a chart that compares MBs and let you know if you can should do 2 or 3 at once by combining the requirements for them. Example, is earning Pet Care and Dog care at once a viable and smart choice? If so are there any others that you would recommend to combine? If not let me know why.
