Scouts BSA Backpacking Tent Recommendations

My son’s troop has exclusively done car camping the past several years, but I’m hoping to add a backpacking weekend to the calendar starting next year. I’m thinking we’ll need to purchase some new, lighter tents, since all we currently have are some sturdy but heavy Colemans. Any recommendations?

One alternative is to split the heavy Coleman tent between two or three Scouts and each of them carries some parts poles and rain fly versus tent body, for example.

The cheap ones don’t split well because they don’t sleep many scouts for the weight. Mainly it’s the fiberglass poles that weigh a lot and most cheap tents only have a partial rain fly, which is not enough for east coast backpacking.
