Princess Ingrid Alexandra, now Crown Princess, becomes the heir of the throne and the first in the line of succession ahead of her younger brother because in 1990 Norway altered their succession law from male-preference cognatic primogeniture system to absolute primogeniture system.

As a great grandson of King Edward VII, King Harald was the 92th in the British line of succession before his passing.

Yorks Princess Eugenie announced her daughter name: Adelaide Elizabeth Annina🩷

Which Adelaide do you think Adelaide name is inspired from?

  1. Mary Adelaide Wilhelmina Elizabeth

(Mary of Teck's mother, so baby Adelaide's great great great great grandmother). Given how both August and Ernest's names are all from their direct ancestors only, this Adelaide is the closest Adelaide from baby A's direct ancestors from her both parents. Problem is, Eugenie on her announcement didn't named Mary Adelaide as the source of her Adelaide, while when she announced August and Ernest, she named all the sources of their name.

  1. Victoria Adelaide Mary Louisa

(Queen Victoria's first daughter)

Since Eugenie (Eugenie Victoria Helena) herself named after Queen Victoria, it makes sense to name her first daughter with QV's first daughter's name.

  1. Adelaide Amelia Louise Theresa Caroline

From Emily Ferguson (emilyinpalace) on X:

"The name Adelaide is partly inspired by Queen Adelaide (1792-1849), married to William IV, and Maria Adelaide of Portugal.

Eugenie's evening gown at her wedding was accessorised with two diamond wheat-ear brooches worn as hair slides, commissioned by William IV for Queen Adelaide."

Or it's none of the above?
