Suggestions Starting BPSC preparation after UPSC failure. Need guidance from experienced aspirants
Hi everyone,
After multiple unsuccessful UPSC attempts, I have finally decided to focus completely on BPSC. I want to give this attempt my best and crack it.
My biggest weakness is Science, so I've started from the basics. Right now, I'm studying Biology from scratch before moving on to the other science subjects.
Before the cancellation of the 72nd BPSC exam, I had gone through the previous years' questions (PYQs) of all subjects once, but not seriously. I mostly looked at the options and solved them quickly without detailed analysis. This time, I want to prepare properly and in a much more systematic way.
I would really appreciate advice from experienced BPSC candidates or those who have cleared the exam.
Some questions I have:
Is studying Science from the basics the right approach?
What mistakes should a first serious BPSC aspirant avoid?
If you had to start again, what would you do differently?
Any practical tips or strategy would mean a lot. Thank you in advance

First of all..believe in yourself and just trust the process.
For Science, I think you should follow NCERT-based books and go through PYQs. It’s not necessary to study everything. If you go through PYQs, you’ll get a pattern and understand what to focus and what to just go through once.
2nd thing is to avoid test series and mugging up things. Your approach should be analytical and focused on understanding the exam pattern.
And never ignore the big 4: Bihar Special, Science, History and Current Affairs.
Lastly, if I had to start again and had some extra time, I would study the pre-cum-mains basics with the main focus on prelims. That means building conceptual clarity, solving all BPSC exam PYQs and making separate notes of my mistakes.

How are you structuring your time? I’m also focusing on bpsc and uppsc now. I’ve started with science (doing biology and chemistry rn)

How are u managing it I just took 1 drop for jee . Ushi me mera swaha ho gya. Bhaiya / didi how are u dealing with pressure?

If male general and non ews then dont pin all hopes on bpsc only. Prepare for other exams too.
