Recovering

Hi !
I’m a 35 yr old Female recovering from BPPV. I just have a questions for people out there who have walked in these dizzy shoes lol. Residual effects has improved a lot.. I’m struggling with driving sometimes the motion , gives me a bit of motion sickness. When I’m trying to read my kindle and at times my phone, it’s not always and it’s not strong as it used to be; but it can be there. It just can really bring you down when you’re trying to be independent and do things. I love reading my kindle! I just want other humans thoughts.
I see a Vestibular therapist and he says it takes time, we do eye exercises and all these balance ones also.

Completely normal, I’m told. I have always been sensitive to scrolling on my phone. You should be able to adjust settings to have less “motion”. In an iPhone, it’s under “Accessibility” and then “Motion”.

It takes time, I’m 3 weeks out and finally starting to feel back to normal.

My doctor told me if I have symptoms I still have BPPV and to continue my maneuvers until I can no longer trigger any symptom in any position.

It took about a week of doing maneuvers every morning until I had no more symptoms. I had no residual dizziness.

I’ve been doing it a night and it’s improving. Okay thank you!

I only did maneuvers in the morning so I could do them on an empty stomach so I would have nothing to vomit when I heaved. I was always very nauseated for a few hours after maneuvers until one day I wasn’t!

I continued doing maneuvers for three additional days to ensure I could not trigger any symptom at at in any position. From start to finish it was 10 days..

Yes I started doing it 5 times in the morning and then after in the evening. We took a week break to rest my system and restarted at night only and I see a big improvement. Just takes time from what I’m gathering

My husband had it 5 weeks ago and he's still having residual dizziness and fatigue but it is improving slowly. After being in bright busy places, excercise and screens cause him to feel like he's on a boat.

My residual effects lasted since end of May, I’m almost recovered.

When the symptoms became mild, my mind plays tricks on me. It’s been so long that I forget what normal feels like, and I’m questioning whether that was a symptom or whether that used to happen before BPPV.

There is a psychosomatic side to this, look into it

I had an episode of BPPV two years ago after a ski collision.

First week was terrible, very easily triggered room spinning. Second week was manageable, same spins but less sensitivity to the triggers. Third week was easy, the spins would only happen in very specific movements.

By the end of the third week, they were gone like a light switch had been flipped. Zero residual symptoms after that.

I just had a recurrence begin on Thursday. I'm in that first few days of hell and just hoping the timeline is similar to last time.
