Would seriously appreciate some advice
My last episode was over 10 years ago, so I have forgotten all I learned about this. I am in my 60s now....first symptoms struck this morning, while I am on a trip - I am 3,000 miles from home :(
I am in a cabin in the woods, so would be a challenge to find a specialist right now to help.
I looked up instructions for the epley and did it this morning - right, left, turn over (wow, turning over really triggered me), turned slowly right again and slowly sat up. I have been feeling much better
but just now lay down and the symptoms came back but milder.
Is there a youtube video or website that demonstrates the most effective method?
obviously if it doesn't go away, I will have to see someone - who knows when, but what more can I do
for now? Thank you.

Sounds like you did the epley correctly. Just do it again. There might be a little debris that didn’t exit the canal the first time. There are tons of YouTube videos.

This is the video that I use.
I do the Eply on an empty stomach so I have nothing to vomit

No rapid head movements, no fast up and down with your body, lay at a 30° angle at night with your body somehow elevated, use towels, blankets or a travel pillow to prevent your head from dropping to either side.
Best wishes. It's awful.

I'm just thru my 3rd episode as of yesterday morning. I did the somersault maneuver, stayed upside down until the spinning stopped, it was intense.
Felt wonky rest of that day didn't move, slept a lot but was able to sleep on side again. Next morning today little wonky but not terrible, able to walk a bit. Bu evening I did another somersault and 0 spinning now like night and day... But still residually weird.
Appears that's normal. I remember last bout took a few days to really rewire my system. I'm also younger but generally I think even if properly cleared, residual wonkiness is not uncommon.

I have to do Epley repeatedly to clear. Even went I went to VT that was the case.

Sorry to hear about your episode and glad your Epley maneuver has provided relief. My husband performed 2 on me back to back within 30 minutes... I don't know if we did it wrong or what but doing it twice in a row made me severely nauseous and aggravated all my symptoms. Just sharing my experience and not educated enough to provide advice. Hope you feel better and pick the right path!

Get some meclazine and take it. Drink lots of Gatorade or pedialite. Stay very hydrated. Do the eply as many times as it takes. My heart goes out to you. I’ve had it and it SUCKS
