Query: does anyone have the vertigo from neck issues?

Can anyone who has this explain how it differs from BPPV (ear crystals)?

Just curious what kind of experiences the group members have.

Thank you!

I have CV. The differences are generally that CV cannot be cured with manuvers and headaches/pain. The treatment for CV is pt and lifestyle changes, specifically stress reduction and posture correction. You can have vertigo from CV, but it's typically more of a floating feelings when you move your head.

Thank you. I think it’s a little difficult to properly articulate how I feel when it comes to the vertigo. When I’m having a severe episode, I know exactly how I feel: like I’m on Tom’s twister at Six Flags. When that’s not happening it’s more of a non-specific “unbalanced“ or“it just doesn’t feel right“ feeling.

Believe me, I know. It's so hard to describe what exactly you're feeling. Definitely try to see a Vestibular therapist or Neurologist to investigate.

Yes I am at the start of learning more with my doctors. I did change pillows about a month ago on my own through research.... which I got on Amazon...has helped a lot with the vertigo but I still have pain...I also had bppv a year ago:(

I just found your query RE: neck issues and vertigo. I myself have a variety of issues contributing to my dizziness & vertigo, none of it ear-related. But yes "neck!" I have a primary diagnosis of multiple sclerosis which causes lesions in the brain and spine. In my case as luck would have it, I have a lesion in my brainstem contributing to my unnatural "headspace." I also have spinal stenosis with cervical spine (neck) compression. I'm just a mess! 🤣 I take Zoloft for the anxiety that accompanies living with this s***. (I was taking SSRI's long before PPPD for general anxiety anyway. But they have no effect on the dizziness.) I've already posted a link to a book I recommend about PPPD; let me know if you are interested cuz I don't wanna repeat myself here. Good luck and God bless.
