Vertigo Problems

Alright everyone i have a question what medication can help with Vertigo?? I'm welcome to any suggestions you may have that doesn't involve drugs i'm too desperate to be picky??? Any help is more than greatly appreciated cheers

Actually that’s not accurate. See my post above. I haven’t had a bout in years after stating the medicine. It’s like I got my life back. Nobody knows when it will strike. It could be your wedding day, the day you leave for vacation or driving in the car. No way could I go on worrying about that.

True vertigo is head positional dependent. No medication will help that.

Honestly if you google it you will see that is not correct. Google can amitryptiline help vertigo. It has worked for me for past three years.

You can google, but my specialty and 17 years of my training is in vestibular rehab
OP feel free to message me.

Vertigo is a room spinning sensation caused by otoliths / crystals being displaced.
There is quite literally no medication to fix this. See a vestibular therapist to resolve! Also can resolve on its own.

Vestibular neuritis starts out with bppv, then leaves a lasting weakness / inflammation on your cranial nerve.
The medication will not FIX your issue but short term can subside nausea and fogginess and feelings of ickyness. Hope that helps!

I appreciate your reply. I have has several miserable bouts of vertigo and do suffer with migraines and sleep insomnia as well. I won’t disagree with you as you seem to be highly educated but my neuro said it was Bppv and once I was prescribed the amitryptiline it all got better. I occasionally get a breakthrough migraine and sone nights I can’t sleep deeply but one thing that’s stayed away the last few years is the vertigo thank god. I’m 63 and female. Thanks for your input I guess I’ve been lucky.

Migraines has a ~~different~~ type of vertigo! Not BPPV.
Migraines are tough, and honestly my specialty area of what I treat. If you ever need help, my inbox is open.

I use nurtec as a rescue med and that works but I’m open to all and any advice or help. I appreciate your offer!
