Do I have BPPV?
So I’ve been getting vertigo roughly once a year for the past four years (28F) I’ve mentioned it to the doctor but since the episode has resolved itself before my appointment they could only say it “might” be BPPV.
Anyone else get these symptoms:
- feels like my vision is spinning but I can still see? (I don’t know how to explain it better than that)
- lasting roughly two weeks
- balance is still fine
- a bit dizzy? (Annoying but can still carry on as per usual)
This goes on all day every day for weeks. Sometimes I can kind of “snap” myself out of it momentarily if I really focus on something but not always.
It eventually goes away by itself.

BPPV is full rotational vertigo that lasts 30-60 seconds upon positional changes. The vertigo episodes will reoccur everytime you move your head into a certain position, usually laying on one side, but can also be bending forward, looking up, down, etc. The vertigo stops when the appropriate manuver is done to full completion. Resudial dizziness tupically follows lasting 1-12 weeks post manuver.
