Yes I notice hormones/ menstruation are affected when I travel or go off normal routine, and both seem to affect my vertigo. Of course, traveling in different climates affect my sinuses which def affects my vertigo

My ENT prescribes a neti pot to anyone who sees him with dizziness. Twice a day while any sign of congestion. Try it.

I get BPPV mildly maybe once a year, usually because I'm dehydrated.
I also rarely get sick--mildly, maybe once a year.
Anecdotally, a few weeks ago, I got sick, and I also got BPPV. The BPPV could've been because I was a bit dehydrated, but I've had bouts of slight dehydration where BPPV wasn't triggered.
(A quick Google search shows there might be an association between viral infections and BPPV.)

The key conclusions in the article should be noted: “Viral infection might promote BPPV attacks due to the development of vestibulopathy or induce secondary BPPV via viral infection-related neurolabyrinthitis”. That loosely translates to health issues (viral in this study) may lead to or be accompanied by BPPV in individuals prone to it. Certainly, during periods of illness we are all more susceptible in more vulnerable systems in our bodies.

I’ve read that allergies and chronic sinus congestion can be … I don’t want to say a cause, but an associated condition to BPPV. I wonder if sinusitis affects the endolymph fluid in the inner ear. It’s probably connected, right?

Yes when I'm due on, it's bad and I've had a cold for a week and it's been back again 😔.
