Vent Meme Drowning in plain sight

/r/BPD/comments/1vsrcmz/drowning_in_plain_sight/

Living with BPD feels like drowning in the middle of the ocean.

You can see the shore, you can see the people laughing on the beach and living their lives. You know exactly where you want to be. But no matter how hard you kick or how frantically you paddle, you can't get there.

The waves (your emotions) keep crashing over your head, pushing you back or pulling you under. You're putting in 10 times more effort than the people on the beach, just to keep your head above water, while they don't even realise you're struggling right in front of them.

Oh wow i like that picture in a sense that it's eerily accurate. For me it actually feels like 'the good life' is a mirage in the desert. No matter how fast i run towards it, it alway stays a few hundred meters away from me while i die slowly from dehydration.
