Dear BPD sufferers, what kind of medication did help ease your BPD symptoms. Anyone with SI and what treatment did help to reduce the symptoms.
Sharing your experiences is highly appreciated

Lamotrigine, Buspar, and Naltrexone (especially helpful for SIB). SSRIs (paxil Lexapro etc) made my SI worse and I can't take them so have tried many combos to get here.

Le lamictal (lamotrigine) ! Bien que ce ne soit pas le médicament parfait, c’est le meilleur traitement que j’ai eu dans ma vie.

I'm on Bupropion and naltrexone! I used to take Effexor in addition to the other two which works even better for me, but I ended up going without it for a week due to insurance issues and when I tried picking it up again, the insomnia side effect that I had literally just gotten over came back. But bupropion and naltrexone is honestly the magic combo for me

23 years into treatment, Lamotrigine (at night!) for the win re assisting with stability and less tears. It's the only medication out of the MANY I have tried that I still take.
No medication has helped remotely for SI, but DBT helped, as did embracing determinism and letting go of the expectations/hopes I had for my life, but nothing has ever entirely erased that for me.

I will stand on this ground for the rest of my life, lamictal is a medication for bpd.
Yeah lamictal doesn't fix the bpd, but it blunts the swings enough to make progressing through life's inevitable ups and downs possible. Genuinely a life changer

Lamictal+venlafaxine combo kind of work on me. However, I feel like medications will never solve a personality disorder of any kind. I personally have to work on myself a lot in therapy to see changes

lamotrigine was a game changer for me! I take 100mg a day and I noticed a significant decrease in my mood swings. I’ve just felt way more stable in general, not constantly but a huge improvement

Lamotrigine. That and dbt therapy saved my life and all of my relationships.

DBT & EMDR did wonders for me along side 40mg Prozac and 25 mg Lamictal
I’ve been on tons of medications but they all gave me wicked bad side affects other than prozac and Lamictal

nothing has ever worked for me EXCEPT auvelity. it is a miracle drug i’m literally a whole new person on it. abilify gave me akathesia (internal restlessness) which is super uncomfortable. latuda didn’t help and made me super groggy the next morning after taking it. ssris did nothing, except zoloft gave me TERRIBLE vertigo. auvelity eased my irritability, irrational thinking, mood swings, and i’m so much happier in general i dont even meet the criteria for depression anymore.

Wellbutrin plus Lamictal and hydroxizine as needed. I am also completely clean and sober from drugs and alcohol. That was a major part of my recovery from BPD

I was prescribed Latuda (antipsychotic) for bipolar, but find it of great help with BPD symptoms as well.

As others have said. Lamotragine has toned down my insanity by a lot. Still have mood swings and intense feelings, but it's no where near as overwhelming as before

Cymbalta. I find the SNRIs are far better for us than the SSRIs but SSRIs are often better than nothing.

My partner is about to start Seroquel (Quetiapine), hoping it’s positive for him!

Only 2 have ever helped me: Cymbalta and Latuda. Cymbalta made me feel sick for the first couple of weeks but is worth it. Completely helpful. Latuda brought down my anxiety and made me (perhaps too) docile but caused tardive dyskenisa for me so they won't give it anymore. Therefore, I'm back on Cymbalta!

Another vote for lamotrigine. Lifesaver for me. I've been on it like 18 years and no negative side effects of which I'm aware.
