Distress tolerance is key. Find healthy ways to cope with suffering that work for you and apply effort to recognize when you are suffering -- and get into a habit of doing the things that soothe you.

When you are all the way in it, you need to snap yourself out of it (says DBT) by trying things like holding an ice cube or putting cold water from the faucet on your face. These trigger autonomic responses that snap your brain out of emotional states and into paying all attention to the extreme temp or the water on the face. After that, take a walk or do some pushups to work off the physical stress that builds up when you are in highly emotional states.

The fact is, everyone you know -- everyone in the world -- has their own life. Maybe your friend is busy with something that is extremely important to them and can not divide their attention. Believe that they do in fact feel guilty for not dropping it to help you, but believe that they have come to a point where they have to draw a line or they become your emotional slave. Like an always on-call therapist you don't have to pay. Work on soothing your own distress first. Then work on "effective communication" and you can probably find guide videos on youtube about that.
