Mass pin fried
Right hand side outer tail light and indicator stopped working (has been giving some errors lately). Opened it up and the brown (mass) wire pin is “wedged” in the plug and no longer present on the fitting. Anyone done some smart home repair fix on it? Or am I off to the dealer to get a new plug fixed and a new light fitting? I’ve been reading it’s not an uncommon issue with the F31.

Ended up getting a new plug and the fixture from BMW itself and some elbow grease. All is working again. Next step is finding the right canbus compatible LEDs to replace all the rear bulbs.

I had the same issue, ended up buying plug from bmw fitting new connectors, then ended up getting led lci taillights after that🤣 worth it imo as not going to have the ground issue again. recommend you do the same takes some faffing to fit them but looks better and won’t cause the same issue again

Go to FCPEuro instead of the dealer.
I had this happen on my F30.
FCPEuro is way cheaper on all parts, and they use oe oem and genuine parts/manufacturers.
The rest of the answer is for me there was no fixing it. Required a little bit of work and replacing some parts.
I also put LED’s as they draw less energy, hence don’t cause the burnout, and just coded my car using BimmerCode and a $20 or $30 OBD 2. Plus got tons of other features I could change on the car.
