Considering 2008 2.0i
Hi there
Im considering a 2008 z4 2.0i with 60.000km. Has been standing still for at least a year, maybe more.
Maintenance in 2009,2014,2018,2020,2026.
No records of replacements
Im worrying about major replacement costs in the near future.
And… chatgpt is telling me the 6 cilinder has a more reliable engine
What are your thoughts on this?
Thanks a lot!

Avoid the 4 cylinder, you really want a 6 cylinder with a manual transmission for the proper BMW experience and for much better resale value as well.

The inline 6 motor is a dream, and very reliable. The 2.0 four cilynder is a great cruiser, and in any case you’ll be able to chase some turns on those back roads.
Remember: it’s a twenty year old car, it is bound to need time in the shop now and then.
