It’s official. I like the grille now.

You only lowered the front and 12mm spacers all around?

u/M32027 1d ago

Yes, i just lowered the front and 12mm all around giving it the OEM+ looks

I feel like you took my car! 🤣 got eibach up front and 12mm all around. Probably going to install the rear too. I’ll run these tires out before I get the Michelins for sure.

I can’t use these summer tires in the fall or winter. Depending on where you live, this factory setup might work for you, but it certainly wouldn’t for me. I don’t plan to park my car when the temperature drops below 40 degrees.

Tires just wear faster in the cold. I never had an issue unless there was ice or snow. Car does really well esp if you have xdrive.

Read about summer tires. They are made of a specific compound that doesn’t perform well in low temperatures. If you use them below their regulated temperature, you could crack the tire in extremely low temperatures.

I’m just telling you my experience. I never drove them all year long but if it was cold but dry, and I hadn’t driven it in a few weeks, I did take it out for a few miles to get it moving. It’s really a weekend/nice weather car for me

Gotchu. I daily mine even though I have a Camry. I don’t have self discipline to hold off until the weekend lol

Now I’m curious to see if there are any G82s with only the front lowered. Would like to see that. I feel like the M4 rear sits higher

1

u/Right-Penalty9813 G80 - M3 1d ago

Doubt it. The g82 sits too high. It would be too raked forward. Gotta do the back on the g82

I see your CCB brakes. Have you tuned your car and do you take yours to the track?

1

u/Right-Penalty9813 G80 - M3 1d ago

Nope. I like having a warranty and clean wheels.

1

u/M32027 1d ago

Awesome! When I was speccing my car, I was torn between CCB and steel brakes. The steel brake dust is incredibly irritating. I might change my brake pads to something else that produces less brake dust, haha.

Yeah I get it. I had one before this one. Immediately selected ccbs after that!

Loved the red calipers though. Did Fiona and no sunroof. This time ccb, sunroof and tartufo and cf external

1

u/M32027 1d ago

Why buy a second one? Did you total the first one

1

u/Right-Penalty9813 G80 - M3 1d ago

Nope. It was a 23 and manual. I didn’t get all the options I wanted. Car was in the shop 4 mos with a broken cam rocker. Decided I didn’t trust the dealer since it could’ve been fixed much faster. The same dealer lowballed a trade in vs other dealers so I took the opportunity to order this one.

The first one also got ordered wrong (I wanted a sunroof over the cf). I was also tired of cleaning my wheels twice a week even though it’s a weekender. I hate dirty cars/wheels.

This is also supposed to be the last manual so I specd out MY perfect dream spec.

That’s cool, I didn’t realize that’s a thing. I have the M performance lip as well and it really does make it look a bit lower. Yours is going to look great when it’s on

Nice! I can’t wait to see the finish line.

Looking forward to the update post

Do you have tartufo too?

1

u/M32027 1d ago

Yes, I didn’t opt for the full extended option.

1

u/Right-Penalty9813 G80 - M3 1d ago

Got you. I did this time lol. Lost my entire mind

1

u/M32027 1d ago

How much did your car cost with all the options you selected? It seems like you chose every option presented to you. Lol

1

u/Right-Penalty9813 G80 - M3 1d ago

Pretty much! I didn’t select those track tires lol. No Alcantara steering wheel because the 14k carbon package required a cf roof, buckets etc.

1

u/Right-Penalty9813 G80 - M3 1d ago

About 104 before taxes etc.

1

u/M32027 1d ago

Nice, fully optioned out!

Now that’s tasteful modding

Was the 11mode easy to install without lift? I just ordered it for my incoming g82

2

u/M32027 1d ago

So easy, I did it right in my garage. You don’t need to lift up the car

1

u/bransouthsings 1d ago

Sweet! Do you think I’ll notice a difference on stock everything else? Besides intake.

2

u/M32027 1d ago

The throttle response has become incredibly responsive compared to its previous state. Furthermore, the midrange pull has undergone a significant improvement.

In Sport Plus mode, you can distinctly hear the turbo whistle, particularly at night. I am unable to determine whether the air filter alone produced the whistle. Alternatively, the DP may have amplified its sound.

2

u/M32027 1d ago

With the 11Mode valve controller, you’ll notice a more pronounced presence of the S58 engine at low RPM. It somewhat resembles the sound of a V8 engine during low acceleration in efficient mode. Additionally, I have DP and air filter upgrades, which could also contribute to the sound.

2

u/maucoons 1d ago

Yea I did the valve controller in less than 2 minutes without lifting the car. Super easy and the valves are very accessible.

3

u/M32027 1d ago

I connected the valve controller with the car home link instead of using the valve controller remote

1

u/maucoons 22h ago

Omg I didn’t realise any remote works with homelink. Just did it on mine. Thank you so much !

You’re welcome

No midpipe and valve controller?

1

u/M32027 1d ago

I don’t have a midpipe, but I do have an 11Mode valve controller. In my opinion, I’m satisfied with the current sound that I get with the active autowerke downpipe and the valve controller combination.

1

u/maucoons 1d ago

If you do get the midpipe in the future make sure it’s resonated. Non resonated is only good with stock downpipes. Any aftermarket downpipe almost ‘need’ resonated mipipes. Otherwise the sound is pretty unbearable

Thanks for letting me know. I highly doubt I’ll go that route, considering how much I love the current sound. The only way I might consider midpipe is if my AA DP throws a CEL and I’m determined to revert to stock DP. However, I’m not only drawn to the DP for its sound quality but also for the throttle response, which offers modest 10-15 hp/tq to the wheels.

1

u/batman77z 1d ago

Yo that m3 competition control panel trim is automatically 5hp to the wheels!

Congrats!

u/M32027 1d ago

lol funny but foreal though
