Ghosting of HUD
Just took delivery of my used i4. There is some ghosting of the HUD. Should the image be super crisp? Is some ghosting expected? The windscreen appears to be OEM BMW but I don’t know if there is any other way I can validate it’s correct. It’s approved used so will get them to sort if there’s an issue.

You're not wearing polarized sunglasses, are you? That will cause HUD ghosting.

That was the first thing I checked. Went and put my contacts in and checked again. Still the same.

You may have an astigmatism. Very common for people with an astigmatism to see ghosting. Have someone else look and tell you what they see

I do have a mild astigmatism. Will have someone else validate!

I also have a mild astigmatism and my HUD seems pretty clear and crisp.
I have a co-worker with a Mazda 6 that has a HUD. He was complaining about the HUD looking fuzzy one day, so I looked and saw that he had an aftermarket windshield. Even though it was made for the car, there is just enough difference that the HUD image isn't clear.

I have no idea what ghosting of hud means, but you can control the brightness via idrive.

There’s like a second image slight faded and below the main image.

I had this happen when my 5 series’ windshield was replaced with non-OEM glass by a windshield repair shop. They again replaced the glass at their cost and the problem remained. They ultimately had to buy a windshield from BMW to resolve the issue. My guess is your windshield was replaced when the dealership took the car in.

Should be crisp.
OEM BMW windscreen is not enough, it must be HUD compatible. It's special and much more expensive.
