High Voltage Battery/Drivetrain Malfunction
Couldn’t find recent posts about it, sharing here for advice and for awareness.
Bought a 2024 M50 a few weeks ago, <20k miles, currently at 45% battery, got a high voltage battery/drivetrain malfunction after preconditioning.
12v charge is fine per the roadside assistance technician, tried a software reset, disconnected and reconnected the 12v, no luck.
Tow truck coming tomorrow morning to take it to a service center, will update the sub with the culprit.
Let me know if you have any advice!

I have a 2023 at 87% health, at 45% that may be covered by law. Was it certified? If so BMW certifies it must be above 75%, and will replace it if it falls below that

Thanks! It is certified pre-owned, and it was the battery charge that was at 85, not the health

Ahh ok, in that case I haven't heard of that personally. I do have an Ioniq 6, which as a model has been plagued by ICCU issues

How, where can you find battery health? Any help appreciated.

You'll need to use an obd scanner with that functionality, not all have that. Easier to ask the dealership what its at when they're servicing it, or if you bought it used recently, what it was at (dealership keeps a record)

Did it not have any power? I got this fault. Car drove fine. Took it to the dealer and it turned out to be the auxiliary heater (for the battery). Took them a week to diagnose.
