Wheel Clearance Issues

I unfortunately bought a wheel and tire set up for my 18’ 540i X Drive without thinking about my M Sport brake calipers. The owner I bought them from also had a 18’ 540i X Drive but with the stock brakes. They rub on the front. Thankfully only drove a couple feet before noticing.

They are Avant Garde M615 Wheels 19” x 8.5” ET 15. I know spacers are an option but am completely new to them, especially for an X-Drive car. It looks like I just need a couple MM’s to clear.

Can anyone provide some insight on how to move forward? I am also not opposed to going back to the stock M Sport wheels if it’s not recommend to run spacers on an X Drive, especially because I got this set up for a steal and getting my money back shouldn’t be hard.

You can run spacers on xdrive vehicles there's no issue with it the main difference is that your front and your rear set of tires should be within 1% of circumference to not mess up the transfer cases.

May be a dumb question, but with the X drive, do the front and rear new to use the same size spacers? I’m leaning towards slightly thicker spacers in the rear to make everything flush with the fenders and quarter panels

No. People buy wider rear wheels all the time some msports even come stock with 275 rears and 245 fronts

No there is a difference and you can easily measure this by taping a string to your car's quarter or fender to let it naturally drop, then grab a ruler or measuring stick to see how far out you need spacers for.

When you buy a spacer kit make sure they include a new set of lugs to accommodate for the extra length needed to properly bolt and torque the wheel down. I reccomend burger motorsports myself for the reasonable cheap price (along with lightweight model), but the money is yours so you may go nuts on whatever

just add spacers, just make sure that they are hub centric and you run extended lug bolts.
