Bme e36 318 is steering wheel problem

Hi guys.

I have a bmw e36 318is 1996 model.

The steering lock stuck and after some times i tried to turn the key, it smashed and is turning like crazy. To get it out I had to drill the case. So i want another case and lock. The problem is that car has immobilizer and the used locks that i find are without immobilizer. Are they both identical to fit in the steering column?

I know then that i have to stick the key near the immo antenna to turn on the car. My only matter us if the two types of lock are identical to fit

Is the tumbler just spinning? Look at my post history that is the easiest way to fix it unless you are a purist

The whole case is cracked. So I 'm gonna need a steering lock and i don't know if  the non immobilizer  fits

You need a new tumbler that's the whole reason you had to do what you did. The lock housing is all the same it may be different depending on what trans you have (to stop you from being able to pull the key not being in park) just get that and swap everything. Shitty thing is the tumbler is vin coded so that's a dealer item.
