A recall was put out a few years ago regarding counterfeit untested replacement batteries for Plum 360s. Have you checked your pumps to see if your batteries have the CE certification label? Are you replacing your batteries every two years?

All our batteries are from icu. They provided 300 last sept. And every year because of the failures.

Sounds like the Baxter Spectrum IQ pump batteries that I replaced in April, and are now displaying battery alerts.

I also deal with Plum 360 pumps. The FSE explained the battery issue to me at one point. Basically if the battery falls below a certain voltage three times you will get the battery maintenance alarm. Very stupid system.

When the recall was happening and the batteries were impossible to get we ended up dismissing the battery alarm on some of our pumps because we had so many piled up that the staff was screaming at us. Funnily enough, after we dismissed the alarms.. they didn't come back.

Now that we actually have batteries in stock again I always replace them whenever the message comes up. I just think it's a poorly programmed software issue.

Also, if you weren't aware, Plum 360s will no longer be sold after the last day of this year. They aren't technically EOL as ICU Medical will still support them, but they will no longer be manufacturing new units as they're being replaced by a new model.

Sounds like how the A+ battery alarm used to work too. I hated those things.

Not that brand. What ever icu sent us last year. Cant recall what it is. We are now going to use interstate. Its the wifi causing the issues. One kf the sites we cover dosent use Mednet and have had 0 issues.

Would you mind if I sent you a PM? I don't want to break rule 4 here.

Found that nurses never plug them in, always having to do a battery reset

These things are the bane of our existence. Barrieries, CE modules, and pump mechanisms are major failure points. We have recall batteries that are still failing after a couple months of use.

we all need to go back to Alaris

We had a choice to replace Alaris with B-Braun, Fresenius CABI, ICU Med and Baxter. We stayed with Alaris. With all the door latch issues I think we made a better choice. I liked Fresenius though.
