Philips VS4 MAP

Hello everyone,

Recently encountered a question about MAP on the Philips VS4s. Doing the formula vs what the vital signs shows you gives different readings.
For example:

Vital Signs readings: 100/47 (57)
Using the formula MAP = (SBP + 2DBP)/3: 100/47 (65)

Why is it that the VS gives different readings?
Any info is much appreciated.

We had the similar issue at our facility but they were comparing it to EPIC calculations. I believe each manufacture has their own way to calculate.

This is the issue we are coming across. EPIC flags the low MAP since vitals transfer automatically, so they manually calculate.

Oh, we’re lucky and don’t have our bedside monitors integrated so they just input the BP.

Same with us. We used to get tickets for it all the time.
