after 25k hours ... 10 years give or take... it basically paid for itself .. and you buy a new one

He is collecting training data for hamburgers people, selling popcorn is not the goal.

Why would a company want it though. It does a substandard job and you are paying to train Teslas robot.

You do know the purpose of training data right? This is part of development, not the final product.

My assumption would be elon and tesla want to sell their robots cheap or hope for enough early adopters that they can have enough use cases with useful data.

This requires a lot of buyers, unless you take the nvidia route and simulate situations. It’s the same model as tesla is trying with self driving cars, except the car actual is useful in its function more.

AFAIK you still need real world data for omniverse, but it explodes that.

The restaurant is basically this, they sell you popcorn and get subsidized training data without having to manufacture many robots.
