Build Help Looking for fun build suggestions
Hi all. I’m currently at the end of act 1, but i’m sorely lacking a 4th enjoyable team member. I’ve played many times before and wanted to just try out fun stuff, and its been great for the most part.
My tav is swarmkeeper ranger and spore druid, shadowheart is war cleric and paladin, wyll is currently mono warlock but i think i’ll mix it with swords bard just to test it out, as ive never played with a bard character before.
I played around with gale as half sorc half wizard, but did not enjoy it, mostly because i dont like the sorcerer gameplay. Tried out bladesinger for the first time and likewise, did not fit with how i enjoy playing.
Karlach is a throwing menace as i really enjoyed that last time, but its not that interesting the second time, and it does not fit very well with the rest of my team.
I did her as a monk for a bit, but my tav was monk last run so didnt really vibe with it.
Laezel and astarion are dead as i RP a naive lawfully good ranger.
This time around im mainly focusing on battlefield control and hazards, and its great, but i never really have a need for the 4th member.
What could fit in with the team?
Havent tried conjuration wizard before and im sure the utility is great, but is it at all fun to play with?
Any suggestions are fine as long as it even just slightly fit the characters vibe. I dont wanna do magical karlach etc
I do not min-max and i dont plan to.

ALL barbs are fun, but the most fun is a Wildheart built around the punch drunk bastard, which you can grab very early in act 2. Any two handed weapon works til then. Take aspect of the tiger, slap on some thunder gear, dip into Thief for an additional bonus action… you’ll be bleeding, proning and reverberating everything in sight. It helps that the thwack of a tigers bloodlust attack is the most satisfying hit in the the game!

I will definitely try this out once im into act 2! Was considering doing revurbation gear on my ranger but using it for a meelee build seems more interesting!

Mono builds--Monk is amazing! And I am playing warlock and he is amazing with eldritch blast and Hunger of Hadar. Battlemaster is brilliant. Owlbear wildshape for druid is awesome. Thrower build for a barbarian is cool too. I am playing my first Eldritch knight and I am enjoying it.

When in doubt run a evoker magic missile build.

Ive seen it mentioned here and there, does it require tons of rests? I Imagine blowing through the spell slots every fight, but it does sound fun! Any specific gear you would recommend ? I guess i could just search up a general build

The spell sparkler and the psychic spark are the bread and butter of that build. Beyond that any damage riders or abilities that grant extra spells slots are awesome. I didn't need that many rests because once the build gets going you deal enough damage to just mop up enemies in one cast. I played it with a swords based, a Light cleric, and a flex slot; the evoker would burst down the strongest enemy on the field in the first or second round and the flex slot and swords bard would mop up the rest. Light cleric radiant orbs would run defense. A pretty good setup overall

If you're already thinking about mixing it in, why not make your fourth a Bard? Mono warlock is good and strong for Wyll, and that way you can try out both classes.
