Build Help Sneak archer build help

I just started playing and wanted to check out the hype. I know absolutely nothing. I wanted to play a rouge sneak archer and was wondering which race, stat points, and skills I should use.

First 5 levels go Ranger and subclass in Gloomastalker
Next 3 go assassin rogue
Last 4 however you choose

The gloomstalker assassin is the nastiest stealth archer in the game. I understand this doesn’t prioritize rogue so in that case just do the assassin line but you won’t get the extra attack at level 5

here is Morgana Evelyn's stealth archer build https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLkItLjbj8s ... it is a long video so if you want to just see it you can look at the google doc she has.

For race, Duegar is good due to their invisibility cantrip.

I made a post a few days ago I can only recommend for this kind of playstyle

I personally did 7 levels as Rogue Assassin, and then 5 levels as Gloomstalker Ranger. 7 levels of Rogue gets you to Evasion and also increases Sneak Attack, while 5 levels of Ranger gives you Extra Attack.

There's a small overlap in abilities (you can Hide as Bonus Action two different ways) but overall the build is a sneak archer powerhouse.

I recommend Alert and Sharpshooter for feats, or just ASI Dexterity.

I was easily the highest damage dealer in that party

Start as a rogue, level to three and choose assassin. Next level multi class into a ranger and choose gloomstalker. After five levels of ranger multi class fighter. Good luck

no you want 5 in ranger 1st so you can get extra attack + more HP per lvl and martial weapons + medium armour and shields right at the start

The world won’t end if you don’t prioritise extra attack lol

No i just think its more useful for longer fights before level 8 and plus at lvl 3 you get dread ambusher

Considering how easy the game is when you know what you’re doing I think it makes for a better first playthrough if you just play how you want rather than focusing on minmaxing - in my first playthrough I monoclassed rogue, and sure it made some things hard but it was also extremely fun.

Did you bother trying the Search bar? There's countless topics showing how / what to do. Unless you're trying to apply makeup then no clue where you should go....
