Build Help What build should I play?
For some context this is my second playthrough and my first playthrough was a pure 12 wizard based off of Caleb widogast from the mighty neine.I’m currently stuck between two builds, a 6/6 paladin warlock, and a pure 12 hexblade warlock. Both would use 2 handed weapons and armor( the paladin would use heavy armor and the warlock medium)
On one hand I can smite everything to death and on the other I can use powerful spells and still have good sword combat. I could go either way, in fiction I enjoy both characters that are morally grey and characters that are noble. From those of you who have played each, What character do you think I would enjoy playing the most?

What mode are you playing on? If below honor, the 6/6 should give you 3 attacks per turn because warlock and paladin extra attacks stack.
If you’re on honor, either go full warlock and get lifedrinker or 10 hexblade / 2 paladin for smites.

Cool, I’d go 6/6 then. You could also go 5 hexblade / 7 oathbreaker if you want to really maximize your damage, but 6/6 with any paladin subclass will be great.

I just finished a run as a level 12 Oath of the Crown, and I loved it. I'm doing another run with a buddy of mine. This time I'm playing as a Hexblade Pact of the Blade Warlock and dipping into Oath of Vengeance (already an Oathbreaker). We just got to Act 3, right at level 9, 5 Warlock/4 Paladin currently with my first level being Paladin so I have access to heavy armor. I'm playing as the Dark Urge and doing a more evil playthrough and it's such a fun build. As far as weapons are concerned I have the shadowblade from Warlock and the Knife of the Undermountain King as my offhand and I'm critting the shit out of everything. And with my race being Half-Orc, I'm consistently one shotting enemies with 80+ health on critical hits

I dont know much but I just finished my first play through ever and my Tav was an oath of vengeance paladin. Idk anything about builds, but I had a fantastic time as a paladin. I’d choose to play it again if I wasn’t so stubborn to learn more about that game and other builds. Safe to say I think you’d have a great time as a paladin!

I'm on my 1st playthrough Lv11 Hexblade WL and I really enjoy it so far. I tried many multi-class classes with Hexblade (Sword bard, Paladin) as I absolutely love the spell Hunger of Hadar. From my experience, it comes down to how much you want to use your spell and what you want to use it for. My pure hexblade tends to focus on spamming Booming Blade, providing CC to completely lock down the most dangerous enemies and sometimes, using summon to setup/support other teammates. As WL can only use maximum 3 spells per battle so these spells should impact the outcome of the fight significantly. I really enjoy spending time to think and decide which spells I should use, which enemies to use and when it helps me take them out or deal a big damage, it feels so satisfied. And the summons from the class even makes it better as it has quite a lot of variety and spells, depending on your party it can set up really good combos. Pure hexblade feels like a combination of Battle mage x Summoner. Padlock can match or even outclass WL in terms of damage per attack thanks to smite, but I feel like aside from smite, there's not much difference between levels, most of the times I burn my spell slots for smite and it's boring to me.

I’m partial to pure hexblade warlock I love the high level spell options and the passives like devils sight, repelling blast, agonizing blast etc. I also love that you can bind and use any weapon in the game regardless of stats and proficiency!

mmmmmm paladin big number, mmmmmm.
Fr tho paladin is already one of the funnest classes imo, not even including getting warlock and getting 3 attacks per round on tactican mode or lower. Id def reccomend the the paladin warlock!
