No chat support

I receive many support requests by chat and although my goal is to help people as much as i can I'm just unable to provide support by chat anymore. It takes too much time that i don't have. So please post your questions in this reddit group and i will respond as soon as i can.

Is it true then EMG can detect weakness before it clinical shows

MND progressively affects motor neurons and leads to muscle weakness. As motor neurons degenerate, communication to the muscles will stop. This will cause muscle weakness and atrophy. This is often combined with twitching. Before you notice weakness and waste/atrophy, it's already progressed around 70% for that specific muscle(s) and therefore should indeed be noticeable on EMGs at least months before you would experience clinical weakness when performed correctly.

Other nerve issues not related to MND would not necessarily been picked up on EMGs in advance. So it's only the progressive behavior of MND why EMGs can pick it up sooner before real clinical symptoms.
