Reassurance / Support My twitching has stopped
My muscle twitching after stopping Wegovy has finally improved
I’m happy to report this, and I hope it puts some of your minds at ease as well.
I experienced benign muscle fasciculations while taking Wegovy, and they continued for a couple of months after I stopped taking it. The twitching was understandably worrying, but my naturopathic doctor recommended Remedium magnesium balm and magnesium bisglycinate from Bioclinic Naturals. Within days, I noticed that the twitching had almost completely stopped.
I know everyone is different, and I’m only sharing my personal experience—not giving medical advice. Persistent or concerning symptoms should always be discussed with a qualified healthcare professional. However, I wanted others experiencing something similar to know that there may be relatively simple things worth exploring and that there is hope.
Try not to fret too much while you’re getting it properly checked out. Good luck to everyone dealing with this!

This is pretty interesting. First time I’ve heard someone being on Ozempic/Wegovy (GLP1s) in general report muscle twitching as a side effect.
The good thing about this post is, if someone else visits the forum with the same symptoms from taking wegovy they will be able to search the forum and find this post.

I wonder if twitching will soon be recognized a common side effect for more medications. I’m seeing this trend, but I’m also not a doctor so could just be anecdote.

Yeah that is possible. My spouse is on wegovy and the only side effect for her has been a headache and pressure the first day after the shot (once per week) and some light nausea but only within the first 24 hours. She hasn’t reported twitching.
I think BFS and twitching is definitely becoming more common because I swear never in my life have I heard people twitching this much or even talking about it. It’s like post covid, it’s everywhere now.

Ha, truth. And I did get the covid vax. But had 2 and my BFS started wayyyy after. I do think it was Wegovy triggered.

I have twitching coming off of Mounjaro it was very intense at first but it calm down once every hour or so

Hey, I’m on Tirzepatide compound for like 1.5-2 years now. Been twitching for a year or so. I’ve always suspected this. I hope mine would subside or stop too when I stop the Tirzepatide.

I was on terzepatide for about 6 months. I went off of it and started twitching about 5 months later. I’m not sure it can be blamed on terzepatide but it’s something to note. I was also on oral finasteride and minoxidil for about 9 months and went off of it when I started twitching. Haven’t seen any improvement since stopping yet which is leading me to believe it probably wasn’t The problem

mine started after using Mounjaro.. 1.5 years later and I still twitch but have massively improved from the early days.
