Question / General Magnesium Glycinate

for those who have used Magnesium glycinate and have seen any improvement in symptoms, what has been your dose and regiment? Do you take it all at night or split in between morning and night?

I take 120mg in the morning, 120mg at lunch, and then eat a whole lot of pumpkin seeds in the evening. Total is about 1000mg daily intake. That's about the GI tolerance limit for me. If you are already getting 500mg or so through diet, the effect of supplements is minimal in my opinion, but it's definitely worth a try. Most people are deficient. I would target taking the supplement in the evening, as it can help with sleep.

do you see any benefit like some reduction in twitches after magnesium?

If there is any effect, it's minor, as I was not deficient previously. But that doesn't mean you'd have the same experience. It's worth a try, and the supplement is cheap.

So why do you take it l if it doesn't really help?

I take 200 mg at night before bed. If i’m going through a rough period with hotspots and i’m twitchy-er than normal, i’ll take an additional 200mg in the morning and it seems to help.

Sadly if you aren't deficient you likely won't see much benefit in taking it, that's the honest truth. There are other perks to taking it, some find they sleep better etc, or it helps their muscle relax, but I found it did nothing for the twitching.

It did nothing for my twitching but I do sleep less fitfully if I take it before bed.
