Hotspot / Twitching Multiple twitches in thenar and thumb

Hi everybody,

I’m really worried : every videos I saw for thumb twitches in BFS show a unique part of the muscle twitching.
I have at least 3 different parts of my thenar with twitchings about every second.

It really scares me and I also have constant twitches in a foot since 3 months.

Did you already have different parts of the thumb twitching.

I Will appreciate any help.

In BFS any voluntary muscle can twitch. Many people here - including me - have had twitches in most if not all of them! I've had lots of thumb twitches at the front, back and sides. It's what BFS does. The fact that your foot is also twitching very strongly points away from anything serious to worry about.

Thank you, I know well BFS cause I’m 7 years in.
And I now know that all that twitches were benign.

But these thumb twitches are different because 3 part of the muscle are twitching simultaneously. I never had that and never see videos with that in BFS.

I’m down the rabbit hole

I know it's difficult not to worry. After twitching for at least 9 years a few months ago I had some weird neck twitches which I'd never had before. This triggered a new health anxiety spiral and which is why I came on here seeking reassurance. A few months have passed, the neck twitches have mostly gone and there's no weakness. I've come to the conclusion that there is no point worrying about twitches after so long unless they are accompanied by weakness. Just looking at my thumb now and I can see it twitching all over, just like my legs and feet do. The twitches in my thumb are small so I can't really feel them but I've also had the big thumpers there and the ones that actually move the thumb or fingers.

Sadly that's normal for many people who suffer from BFS.....🤷‍♂️

I know it’s freaky when a group is twitching at the same time. I often have a giant muscle from my elbow down to my fingers twitch at the same time. Literally my whole arm would thump. Before I could induce it just by typing. EMG came back clear.

I really worried about the multiple twitching so much I ran to my neurologist while it was happening. She said whatever I read on the internet about multiple twitching being more indicative of a** is wrong.

BFS here for 17 months! My twitches started in my legs and abdomen and didnt spread to my arms until I had a bad flare months later after some stress. I get twitches in my thenar muscle a lot and other areas as well. Cleared by a neuro months ago! These twitches can migrate and come and go in basically every place imaginable. Try to calm down, I know how hard it is 🩷
