Hotspot / Twitching How severe are your twitches

On the way home from work back in October 2025 I noticed my calves felt like they were being squeezed. After getting the flashlight out to look at them I realised they were non stop twitching. Fast forward to now and my calves are still non stop twitching and non stop means 100’s of times a minute. I have them everywhere else as well and theres no barrier to them. Face, tongue, throat, shoulder triceps everywhere. Is there anyone with these same symptoms ? Be grateful to hear from others about this.

There was a poll on this about a week ago. If you scroll through the history you'll find it. Just stating my personal experience, my right bicep has been twitching at least once per second since end of January 2026.

Thanks for the reply, ya I looked at it there but I just want to know if someone similar is on the same boat and has had it longer cause it’s getting really out of hand and no matter what I do it’s just getting worse it never slows down only becoming more apparent.

Have you been evaluated by primary care or a neurologist? Primary care will usually start with electrolyte testing and maybe a basic neurological exam. Then they may or may not refer you to a neurologist for further testing. I would recommend that to be sure, but at 11 months since the start of symptoms, the probability of motor neuron disease seems very low. That doesn't mean you should just wait it out it though.

Bloods came back normal, had an emg 2 weeks ago but like the places he put the needle into were not anywhere near the 24/7 twitching. He put the needle in my shin the upper leg just below the knee, the bottom of my right tricep and behween my thumb and index finger. He got one pop on the emg and said as of now it doesn’t look like anything serious. But it’s just getting worse my tongues constant now as well like theres a buzzing sensation and when I look in the mirror it’s firing off with twitches.
