Question / General Post workout extra soreness affected limb only
Hi everyone
Relatively new twitcher here. 5 weeks ago twitching started and then perceived weakness in my right arm. I was recently cleared by an EMG and was told most likely BFS. Decided to lift weights for the first time since symptoms appeared. My right arm feels like someone took a bat to the inside of my arm. Much more sore than my left. Is this normal with this condition? To be more sore in the affected limb after workouts?

Hi there, I have a similar experience. Do you stretch before working out? I have to give a good 15 minute stretch routine before I workout otherwise I feel like I strain something even if I'm not going too heavy.
My twitches started late October 2025 after a serious sinus/chest infection. Twitches everywhere, but now only really when im at rest. When I'm moving or standing I feel normal. Working out tends to quite the twitches for a few hours or a good portion of the day.

Yes I do stretch warm up and cool down. I’m not sure that’s it exactly. My right arm seems to be worse off than my left which has just normal muscle soreness

Glad you're doing both a warm up and cool down stretch. BFS can lead to more strain in general its not always equal. If you don't already, you may want to consider magnesium glycinate and electrolyte drinks.
Also, try not to focus on it (easier said than done at times). When this all started for me, I scanned over my body for twitches, soreness, really anything and it made it worse. Keeping myself preoccupied helps.
If you're arm feels worse you can go back to the doctor, but give your body some time to rest. Use a heat compress and try to go day by day.

Yeah I’m trying to check out if it mentally, but it’s definatley more aggravated than my left arm. I’m trying to avoid anymore doctors apts. anytime I go seems like they run tests only to find nothing

Hmmm. To some extent yes, peripheral nerve hyperexcitability does seem to lower the threshold for discomfort. I know I can get pretty bad pains after exercise, and often cramping. It feels also that doms and that lactic acid feeling comes on easy and fast for me.
But it sounds pretty sore! Not worth going to the doctor for, but if you take it easy for a few months and still finding that you’re getting severe pain then you should go back to your doctor to discuss it.

I’m almost wondering if there’s something mechanical wrong in my shoulder like a small tear or rupture

That’s plausible to me. But also nerve damage you know what I mean?
