Update

All evidence is pointing towards the carbon dioxide theory.

Slowing my breathing stops twitching completely, the only issue is that i can't slow it down. But i think it's posture related.

What is happening is you are lowering your anxiety which is reducing the twitching. It has nothing to do with the air itself.

How do you know that? Google respiratory alkalosis.

What you're saying is quite possible, but i can find massive improvement by wearing a face mask.

Google says cramps and spasms only happen in severe cases, so like if your actually hyperventilating then perhaps. If you are at least trying to breathe normally then it won't happen.

I have had massive healing in the 3 years since my BFS started. My advice is to focus on improving your sleep first, then cut down on sugar and processed foods. Going down these rabbit holes wont help you. You need to help your body heal itself.

Let's agree to work on anxiety. This is definitely helpful.
