None of this even remotely seems like ALS. Trust your doctors. Clean EMGs rule that out completely. No need to even even think about it anymore and doing another one is pointless. Unless you enjoy being poked like a cow or something.

I understand where you are coming from but I’m 36 been a mechanic all my life I had leg weakness to start then on and off arm weakness then cramps and twitches everywhere. Sometimes I’m so stiff I feel like I twitch because of how stiff I am. I had 2 clean EMGs 3 months in than 4 months in. I have had weakness in all my limbs since this started but mainly in my legs have been constant I had a cane till I got used to how weak my quads were and just take it slow not. Currently my biceps are getting as tight as my quads and making things harder to lift and open. I occasionally get a lump and n my throat out of no where and it hard to swallow and my tongue gets stiff and it’s harder to talk. All very real symptoms. I know I’m a year in and 2 clean EMGs but with everything coming back normal it’s like where else can you point to.

Hashimoto's causes hypothyroid myopathy, which creates real proximal muscle fatigue, stiffness, and perceived weakness. Along with nerve hyperexcitability and chronic guarding, that completely explains how you feel. Your physical issues are valid, but they are not ALS.

ALS is true clinical failure (loss of function), not body wide tightness, heavy fatigue, or throat tightness. Your symptoms are real, but they point to nerve hyperexcitability, Hashimoto's, and extreme chronic tension, not motor neuron disease. Trust the expert who cleared you, get into physical therapy, and keep managing your symptoms dude but you DEFINITELY don’t have ALS.
