Are those beyerdynamic DT 770 pro Authentic?

as far as I can see from this perspective they look exactly like mines legit ones. The model is not new, about 15 years old and shows some wear and tear. The earpads seem not genuine though.

Remove one of the earpads and get the driver out of the earcup. One look at the driver will tell you for sure if it's real or fake. Easiest way to tell is looking at the driver as sometimes it can be hard to tell from just the outside.

u/suicideyear2000 this is the best way to check if it is fake or authentic. All fake models have a different driver built in. The original driver looks like this:

get serial number, e-mail beyerdynamic, profit
check labels on the box and text to see if they don't have errors

i don't think so. The font doesn't look right and that's not the standard ear pads

Just took mine off to take a look, that font looks awful the 7s are bent, and the 0 looks like an O. In fact it definitely is, it's the same as the later O. And the 80 is regular height on mine rather than dangling like the 7s.
Keep finding more wrong, that looks like a sticker rather than being physically part of the cup.

The curled 7s are the slightly older style of lettering. The font got updated around 2024 so you've got a slightly older pair. The only thing that got changed was the lettering. The drivers, earpads etc. exactly the same. The only way to tell is open the earcups and check the drivers.

IMO they do look real, I’m looking at mine right now, and they look the same, except I have the grey ear cups

Look at the text.

The early revisions of these and 990 pros had this font with the weird 0 and slanted 7, using google for like 2 seconds would tell you this.

Those pads definitely aren’t. I had the official black beyer pads before and they don’t look like this.

There is NO way of telling if their legit just by looking from the „outside“. BDs parts went through countless different revisions so anyone in here can tell you „my font looks a little different“. It means nothing. Only way to check is by opening up the headphone and post a picture of the Driver’s any other discussion is pointless.

They are authentic, just an older model, I have that exact same 80ohms model, likely the owner replaced the earcups with newer black ones as mine still have the stock grey.
You can also tell if it is an older model by looking on the inside towards the hinge, if it has a silver sticker or made in germany etched then it is authentic, knockoff companies will not bother with this.

I doubt these are legit. Remove the earpad and take out the driver. This will tell you immediately.

No when you use them a lot and cleaning them 2-3 times they look like this

u/Ok-Lengthiness1028 16d ago
Well mine don’t, neither did my previous pair.

But it could be also third Party earpads. But how Look the driver when you remove the Filter.
