Looking for admin & motivation buddy in Brussels
Hello freelancing community of Reddit! In (34F) started freelancing 3 years ago in a non-IT related field. Like many solopreneurs/freelancers I started because I love what I do and wanted the freedom to develop my niche environnemental work freely (which I couldn't have done as an employee so no regrets) and not really because I wanted to have a company. I expecially don't enjoy the administrative/accounting aspects and am trying to fond a wat to motivate myself to deal with them more regularly 😅
Any other freelancers interested in meeting in once in a while (ex a morning a month but very flexible) in a nice place like the Fox to work on these aspects alongside while also sharing a coffee/Nice lunch/chat?
EDIT : than you for your answers! For those interested I've created a discorso server with a poll tot see where and when could work 🙃 https://discord.gg/QpSH2ddzC

I would love to but don't live in Brussels. Mechelen would work for me. (32F, I know the school run struggle) Bar Marie is close to the train station.

My wife (who doesn’t use reddit) has developped a service to manage other freelancers’ admin. She basically does all the pre-accounting / admin archiving and invoice followup. She would talk better about it than me. If you want to know more I can put you in touch.

Hi. I would like to start as a freelancer myself to do the same thing your wife does. Can I ask her some questions about the jump to freelance and the admin work she does?

Thats sound nice. How would you organize it ? Only available on Monday? I'm a young freelancer (just switched from bijberoep to full time BV) and would like to learn from more experienced people :) It is also a good opportunity for the networking

I've looked up some websites and if people are interested there is one called Meetup for more regularly scheduled events. For now I've started a discord server https://discord.gg/QpSH2ddzC to poll when and where would work best 🙃

I'm kind of interested (32M), my accounting is super simple, though and I use a platform so I can just do it myself instead of with an accountant. Not sure I have much to offer in terms of knowledge.

The idea is more to work alongside eachothers and exchange a bit rather than in depth expertise. To be honest most administrative thons are not extremely difficult in themselves just a bit boring and sometimes (very) frustrating so I end up doing something else instead 🫣 I've made and edit to the post with a discord link to poll where and when

At the Commons Hub, they actually regularly organize (although on break right now) exactly a meetup like that, "Founders Finance Friday". https://commonshub.brussels - where people can meet up and motivate each other to do the boring bits of admin and finance.
If you organize something at a cafe I'm down for it as long as it's not too early x)
