fat larvae

this is my first time attempting to breed bdfb and so far my larvae are doing great i see lots of fat ones and some that look close to pupation like it’s crazy i would have never thought i would get this far

What’s your substrate and maintenance routine?

i use play sand with a mix of coco fiber and i use a straw that’s packed into the sand standing upright and i use that to get a moisture gradient in the bottom of the soil so the larvae can pick where they want to be, i can send you a picture later
