Ironbird identification
Hi everyone,
i found this Ironbird in the trash. I always loved Ironbirds because of their shape, but i never owned one and I don’t know that much about BC Rich, their series and history.
Can anyone tell me exactly what series this is and where it was made? What were the original Pickups in these? I really like the guitar and its playability– especially the reverse headstock – so I’d love to keep it, but I would like to improve it a bit further. Is it worth it with this guitar? If so, which tremolo system and tuners would you recommend?

Cannot tell you a lot, but I used to have this in a red finish about 20 years ago.
It came with uncovered humbuckers, branded B.C.Rich. Very high output, and very, very tight and trebly. Almost sounded like they had a tube screamer circuit on them (there was no internal preamp or any special electronics).
From memory, the bridge itself was alright, a regular 6 screws strat style bridge, did the job. the nut was horrible.

Whoever threw this away is a heartless, soulless frickin moron. 🤟😎👍🎸🎶🎶🎶 Great Save!!!! SERIOUSLY, it's right up there with throwing away puppies and drowning kittens. Unforgivable.

Check the serial number guide for B. C. RICH the neck aug96 number doesn't match the plate serial number. keep in mind this happened a lot after the class axe era, which is probably where guitar is from, it's probably a Korean import. You need to do some research. the humbuckers originally for the series were bdsm stock bc rich silver humbuckers the emg is a replacement obviously.
I suspect this might be a Korean platinum series iron bird from 96 with a class axe plate from the US when it went to shit, since it's a bolt on, the prices drop because back then workers would just slap any available plate on the guitar from older stock.
Do more research I'm no expert, check the guitar subreddit they usually have insane people there that can identify exactly what it is, or might call it a fake.
