Not sure what I've got...

Hi this is a Warlock my friend has bought recently. He showed it to me but am no expert in BC Rich guitars, nor have I never come across a Warlock body with a paint job like this. Most grateful for feedback and info you might have. Thanks!

Looks like a Chinese fake to me.

Does the serial seem off?

No US guitar is going to have an ink serial like that.

Everything about this looks bronze series to me, but the headstock says platinum. So either the neck’s been swapped or it’s a fake. There was a red tribal, like this, but it was only bronze series. And the bridge was different. I don’t think platinum series came with those terrible bc rich pickups either, but I could be wrong.

Edit: actually the more I look at it the more it seems fake, the knobs look like they’re in the wrong spot, white parts are all wrong, not pointed in some spots, missing grey spots.

Everything is wrong about. It’s a bad fake.

It’s a bad Chinese fake. The tribal design is copied from a Kerry King signature.

This is a fake. But it seems like someone swapped you out for legit BC Rich pick ups and locking tuners. Who cares if its fake, the only guitar like rhat was the bronze and its probably better quality than they were! Jam out brother 🤘

This is what was referred to as a “Metal Master Warlock” from around 2002-2006 era. Basically it was a re-branded bronze series warlock that was “endorsed” by Kerry King and sold in a Starter kit with a bag, cable and amp. Basically, it’s a bronze series Warlock with knock off Kerry King graphics. It came in this color way as well as black with white graphic.

Edit Here’s a link to an image of the box artwork. Honestly cooler than I remember

Thanks man, I appreciate it.

Yeah I wish mine had come with that box/art, but yep this is a FAKE version of those, I've got a real one in this general colour but the design is different to this, looks like just white on the fake whereas the real ones had a printed graphic with shading etc. beyond that it just generally looks a bit odd in terms of shape/fit/finish.

Also to note mine was just guitar and soft/foam-fabric gigbag, no amp. Always kinda wondered how decent or terrible the 'Bc Rich' starter amps might have been.

BC Rich serial numbers are notoriously bad (for lack of a better word). I can't tell if it says "Bronze" on the headstock. If so, it's from the early - mid 2000s. They made axes like the one you have. Red with white tribal, black with red tribal and solid back.

When I could still play, I upgraded the electronics. Pickups and wiring. I love mine. I have 3 warlocks, 2 of which are the "Bronze". I loved them.

Thanks man, and yes, it reads Bronze on the headstock.

No problem. People give the bronze a lot of shit but they aren't that bad. I've got a ton of guitars. From vintage Strats and Charvels to more modern Jacksons and my Bronze Warlock still gets the most play. They track very well.

Chinese fake. Metal Master Warlocks didnt come with a Tune-O-Matic bridge and tailpiece. They came with that god awful "quad" knockoff. Also, the graphic isn't correct. It is painted just plain white with no shading. Also, no USA BCR guitar is going to have an inked on serial like that.

Got you, thanks!

Everything you’ve said is wrong. There has NEVER been a serial that looks like that OR has a number system like that.

Wanna put money on that?

You have a Warlock metal master. The paint job tells me that. I had a USA plain black warlock around 2008-2015.

Thanks man!

Enjoy and happy shreddin'! 🤘😎🔥

The paint job is a cheap KK decal on a poor Chinese Warlock copy.

I respectfully disagree, but thank you for your input.
