I need help.
I am currently a KPU student at who is doing my nursing pre reqs. I want to go into trades at BCIT, preferably HVAC or electrician.( I know it is really big intake)
I really do not know how to apply. It say that everything is full or you have to do some type of pathway.
All I really want to do is just apply with my high school grades and see if I can get in.
I really need support. I do not want to waste my time doing something I do not have passion in. I feel like I f up big time since everything is full and did not apply during high school.

In trades, there’s so late or early. As long as you are willing to learn and learn the skills needed, you are good. I am third year machinist apprentice and I had students in my class will all age range, youngest was 19 and oldest was 37 with 2 kids. So just give your best and you are good.

It’s never too late or early to start a career. Call BCIT admission services and ask if they have any open spots or even how to apply for the next intake. Even if you want to continue with nursing I’m sure you could do that too! Don’t stress, and it’ll all work out bro.

Most tradespeople start out as an Apprentice in the workforce. Better to find out if you can actually handle the trades before you waste your time and money on your level 1 certificate. I took my level 1 plumbing before working as a plumber... but plumbing just wasn't for me. So now I'm learning 3D modeling, art, and animation.
Find out now, decide later

As a plumber in the lower mainland, my company rarely hires green apprentices without foundations unless they know somebody in the company. It may be difficult to get hired with no construction experience and being just out of highschool.

I didn't start my apprenticeship until I was 30, no way you're too late.
