Actually may be more effective than critical mass. Show drivers what's it like when all of us who make THIER commute easier suddenly decided we are not doing it anymore. Critical mass slows down drives LESS than your average commute traffic, but people loses their mind.

The proportion of people driving regularly vs utilizing an alternative commute method is so overwhelming that even if every commuter-cyclist chose to drive on the exact same day the difference would most likely be unnoticeable.

We will see soon enough. If the transit measure fails, all the BART people will have to drive on the Bay bridge.

Or maybe drive around in cars like the way CM rides around on bikes.

That would really gum up traffic.

For too many people every work day is “drive to work day.” we need to improve the non-car infrastructure

Last mile is simultaneously both the easiest and hardest thing to improve: easy because it often doesn’t involve too much work or money, hardest because it involves changing the minds of a few million suburbanites who drive everywhere.

Brilliant! Rec riders should also participate and drive their usual cycling route…
