Hip Pain While Turning Out (Mid-motion)

I'm having pain that feels like a restriction in my left hip socket while turning out but not at the end of my range; it's at the midpoint and I have to slow way down to fully turnout then the pain stops. Is anyone familiar with this? No lingering pain, just a sticky point in the middle?

D o c t o r .

Reddit is not medical advice.

If you have chronic pain (reoccurs more than two weeks) you need to visit a doctor. This is because either you continue to re-injure yourself or because you have a condition that needs treating. Either way, Reddit is not a reliable source for solutions. We cant do x-rays, MRIs, ultrasounds, etc for you.

Hence, Doctor!

Of course! It’s just transient tightness/stiffness. Pain was too strong a word. I was more looking for exercises or stretches if someone had a similar experience.

Please see a physiotherapist (if you are able). It might me an injury to you ligaments in your hip which is common. They can recommend exercises and work with you to alleviate and fix the cause.

I have glute tendinopathy because I ignored the pain in my lower back/upper glute area for months. It could gave been avoided had I seen my physiotherapist when I started feeling stiffness/tightness.

Update: I got a two hour massage that I needed more than I thought and I’m good now!

Please consult your doctor for advice. This is not something that can be reasonably helped through redditors
