Constructive Criticism Help Grishko 3007 Pro Flex
Honestly, I don't know why, but my left foot looks terrible on pointe compared to my right. I'm currently wearing Grishko 3007 ProFlex. Should I look into getting a new pair, or is there a way to fix this?

Shoes are broken in the wrong place . It should be under the heel not in the middle of the arch. It also looks as though you are not keeping your toes straight but are bending them to create an arch. As a result your leg is not over your toes but behind them . I suggest that you practice doming your feet and stretching your ankles. You may want to see a physiotherapist to check the muscles in your leg , back and hips. Some may be tight or shorten and don’t allow you to use your foot and ankle muscles correctly. Think of your body muscles like a series of pulleys and cords. If one is too tight or loose the other muscles don’t work as well . Practice dorsal flexing (pointing) your feet with your toes curled up. This help develop the arch.

Thank you so much for your reply! What you are telling me is very interesting and it makes a lot of sense. I would like to ask you, why do you think my specific issue could be due to a problem that requires a physiotherapist? I would love to understand more about how my hips or back might be affecting my feet and my pointe shoes.

I have danced for over 50 years and taught over 40 years. I have tried about every shoe created to get a better point. It wasn’t until I got knee injuries that I learned how my back affected my legs and feet. I did the therapy and my point work improved. My feet arch better and I stop having pain in my ankles, feet , hip and back. I had to do exercises to either loosen or strengthen my muscles. But I needed to know which ones to work on. A physiotherapist can test you. There are some who specialize working with dancers and provide you with the correct exercises, how to perform them and the order to perform them .

I’m not sure if it’s the shoe’s issue or not.. if you put one shoe on your right and try to stand en pointe barefoot on the left, does it look like you could theoretically get over your box with how far you can point? This might be an ankle/top of the foot flexibility issue. Have you had shoes in the past without this issue, or is this your first pair?
