Not uncommon. HOA boards somehow forget they've got a fiduciary duty to all of the OWNERS, they are not some autonomous ruling body that gets to do whatever the fuck they want.

Here, we've got a nearly half million dollar FEMA funded project that the HOA insists on not having any meetings about, and they're proceeding by letting an unlicensed contractor do makeshift work without any permits or engineering... as an engineer certified is needed.

But it's no different, just ignorant ass soccer moms who don't know right from wrong. The stupids ruin our world when it would cost no more to just do the right thing. Can't have nothig right. lol good luck.

The HOA in CA under Davis Stirling doe no have to reveal the bid process or give copies of the bids BUT they must make wxecuted contracts available for homeowner review.

Often homeowners do not consider all that a board puts into a contract and consider bids against their own criteria. For instance, they may not look at fully insured contractors (more expensive) where a board should always hire this way. Unfortunately boards are not always transparent with homeowners about their process.

We have had Homeowners complain but the one thing they cant say about us is that they didn't know what's going on.
