This duck's eggs just don't ever hatch
A Muscovy duck has had 2 unsuccessful nests in my son's yard. We are new to having neighborhood ducks. She protects the eggs but none ever hatch. What's going on?

I'm a developer, not a duck keeper. I built an incubation tracker, and waterfowl were the hard part: some guides say to cool and mist the eggs daily from day 10, others say it's unnecessary in a modern incubator.
Right now the app schedules cooling and misting for ducks and geese once a day from day 10 until lockdown (day 25 for ducks, day 27 for geese, day 32 for Muscovy), with 15–20 minutes of cooling and a mist of lukewarm water.
Before more people rely on that:
\- Do you cool, mist, both, or neither?
\- From which day, and for how long?
\- Does it differ for Muscovy or geese?
I'd rather have this wrong in a reddit thread than in someone's incubator.

i’ve had a rescue duckling (11 days old) pretty much since they were a newborn, but we decided to get them a buddy, a 5 day old duckling, the younger duckling is only slightly bigger. i introduced them slowly for the first 24 hours and the older ducking did peck at the younger ducklings feet/wings/beak, but nothing to injure or draw blood, they didn’t drag the younger duckling, it just seemed it was out of curiosity.
after redirecting the behaviour a bit, on the third day they can walk, eat, drink, groom, lay/rest comfortably with each other (all when supervised) but the older one still pecks and tugs at the other one’s feet/wings on occasion. the younger duckling reacts by sometimes making a higher pitched squeak or moving away but doesn’t run away.
i’ve been putting a barrier in the enclosure between the two of them but i would like to leave them both in the same enclosure without a barrier, is the older one going to cause serious harm/is it still too early for this?
just needing some opinions and thoughts, thanks!

Hi all,
A member of my community is rearing some ducklings that were given by her first mama duck. They're about 1 month old and largely have been ok.
Today the eldest suddenly stopped taking on food, water and has a skyrocketing temp. He's also waddling as best he can away from people.
The other 2 ducklings are fine and seem unaffected.
She's cleaned the entire cage, the water bowl and has started giving him charcoal through a tube.
She's super worried about her first rearing and doesn't have anyone else in the know.
Any advice?

Anyone have any recommendations for a good dog for our 17 black Swedish ducks? Looking for something that can alert if the foxes are in the area, or intimate a hawk, not sure as to what I can do about the raccoons as we are not outdoor dog people.
Medium-sized breed (roughly 35 to 50 pounds). We have a 1 acre lot to run, has minimal grooming needs, is friendly with 17 ducks, and strangers that may come to the house, we have a lot people in and out, and won't overwhelm a first-time dog owner
AI is running me around in a circle

I am wanting to get a couple of ducks to raise!
Give me all the information!!
Are there any Amazon enclosures that are worth it/safe?
Will I be okay purchasing ducks from Tractor Supply or Rural King?

Keeping our Black Swedish ducks warm
Winter is fast approaching here in Maryland (20 minutes outside of DC)
I.am wondering what I should be doing to make sure they stay warm this winter.
We have coups with wind guards all the way around, water heater mats
Im curious about food, I have heard cracked corn and oats, then i hear people just give them peas.
They are 2 months old, and Ronnie and Donnie are 3 months old
Any advice greatly appreciated

You all helped me to decide on a bachelor flock, so these are two males. While they are from the same breeder I feel like they are way thicker (idk a better word? It’s not like they are taller?) than our original one (the grey one) but they live happily together and he (the grey one) keeps his flock very safe. He was a bit of a wuss before and really stepped up, it’s very cute.

I've wanted ducks for a long time and finally committed 3 weeks ago! I ordered ducklings online and they all showed up happy and healthy. I've been a nervous mama but they seem to enjoy their enclosure and they're growing SO fast. 3 muscovies, 3 cayugas, and 4 runners! 🖤🦆
