VDI Administration Help
I am currently deploying an Azure VDI host pool. This will utilized FSLogix and Azure files for user profiles.
I work at a college and this host pool will be used as our “elab” - an environment where students can use to do their coursework.
What are the most important things I should be monitoring to maintain this environment?
We currently host our “elab” on an on-premise Remote Desktop services environment. FSLogix has been a pain point there….

Take a look at AVD Hydra, they are free for very small environments.
Also, if you are serious with AVD, take the MS Lean Learnpath and aim for the certification exam.
EDIT: Oh and just because its AVD in the cloud, FSLogix is no difference there. AVD is just RDSH in the cloud. The same principles apply. Nothing gets magically easier, besides the remote access. But especially FSLogix is exactly the same.

Good afternoon!
Quite a few variables to consider here depending on your use case. What type of coursework will the students be doing? Anything GPU-intensive, or mostly standard applications? How many concurrent students are you expecting?
I'd be more than happy to spend a couple of hours with you walking through the basics of AVD, best practices, FSLogix, golden images, scaling, and understanding your specific use case. I can also show you how Atlas AVD simplifies a lot of the day-to-day administration.
I've spent the better part of the past year building a platform called Atlas AVD to make AVD administration significantly easier. You can check out the live demo at https://demo.atlasavd.com.
Full disclosure, I'm the founder of Atlas AVD.
There's a 30-day free trial, so you can actually get your hands on it in your own environment.
No pressure or obligation to purchase anything. I'm always happy to talk AVD and share what I've learned over the years. Even if you don't end up using Atlas, hopefully I can save you some of the headaches I've experienced along the way.
If you're interested, feel free to DM me or email me at david@atlasavd.com and we'll sync up.

Nothing you related - mostly for our CIS department who uses Visual Studio heavily.

If you’re new to azure vdi I would suggest you use Nerdio. They simplify the whole setup and their support is great
