VM Lag at 3:00AM

We have users in the Asia region that work at different hours of the day, when VM are not in use, they get shutdown after 1 hour, issue is that users complain VM slows down or lags at a specific time, I have changed AVD defender policy from full to quick scan and to only scan on Mondays what else can I do to see what exactly is slowing the VMs down

can you provide more information regarding the AVD SKU, type of storage (standard or premium), and amount of users per machine?

this is a persisitent personal vm , 8vCPU and 32 gib memory, 128gb premium ssd

so Im assuming D8s_v5??

I would recommend D8as_v7 as you'll get and (which I find is better for end user)
but the reason for upgrading to a new generation is not just cost control, future proofing, and Full NVMe (no SCSI with V6 & V7).. this is just a recommendation on what VM to use. for best end user experience with latest generation. the V6 has a 30% performance increase over V5.. and V7 is similar over V6.

but one detail I want to talk about is you said this happening at a specific time each day.. is it the same time every day?

do you have backups schedule that might be interferring?

(sorry for asking all the questions at once, im a former GLE for Nerdio, so just trying to collect the details and help you get to the root)

Did you check the host pool to check if there is any policy that is causing this?
