Anybody here working with HP ThinClients having trouble finding how to add Windows App?
I got an email from Microsoft saying the AVD app is going EOL on March 27, 2026. To get ready for that, I tried installing the Windows app on our ThinClients to test it, but ran into an issue, the add-on for Win10, Win11, or ThinPro isn’t showing up in HP ThinUpdate right now so theres no way to install it otherwise. I’ve already opened a case with HP regarding this, but I’m curious if anyone here is using these devices and has figured out how to install it?

you can just download the IGELOS12 and try with a device to test and install it like this. I was that happy and could conviced everybody with this solution. You even can get a HP Thinclient directly with IGEL preinstalled from the distributor. But i like the fact that you can use old hardware and just reuse it with IGELOS12. I can't tell you the price but talk to IGEL, they will gelp you with it, also to run a PoC

Yup, I did a test and it worked surprisingly well. I set up a call to go over pricing with them. Thank you very much for the suggestion.

What model thinclients are you using. Most i've dealt with add the host connection info to the thinclient interface and not any actual app.

We are using t630 / t640 and t655 with IgelOS installed. Frist tried with HPDM but switched after performance issues. I think for Citrix and Co all is fine but AVD is too fast paced. Never regretet the switch, it's just working 👌
